Winer Solstice Tonglen Circle
StoreFrontLab #Action presents a participatory evening of contemplation and sharing led by artist and yoga instructor Shannon Bronson.
Tonglen meditation is the Tibetan Buddhist practice of opening fully to our own darkness, and using our highest wisdom and compassion to destroy it and transform it into light. On the darkest day of the dark year of 2016, Bronson will weave Tonglen meditation, guided journaling, and sharing with each other as tools for cultivating compassion—healing the darkness in ourselves so ultimately we can connect and serve as lights to others everywhere we go.
This free workshop begins promptly at 6:30 and is open to all including those new to Tonglen or meditation. As a courtesy to others, please arrive on time. If you have a favorite pen and notebook bring it along. We also will have writing materials and refreshments on hand.
Part of Season 4: NOW!, StoreFrontLab #Action is an ongoing series of community-based workshops, talks, activities and gatherings supporting our collective work as advocates for peace, justice and social accountability. To propose a program, please contact us at contact us.
